ANNOUNCEMENTS

We have added two volunteers to the site - Heather and Tiffany! Thanks for your dedication to the site, ladies! We appreciate your help!

We are happy to announce that we have brought linkys back to the tours. Instead of posting your links to your reviews in the comments, please use the linky for the specific tour (when available). We are in the process of adding these to all tours (except closed ones), so if there isn't a linky, then please do use the comments to link your review. Thanks!

Let's Take a Poll...

I have been getting a number of e-mails from potential tour participants stating that one week isn't long enough to read one of these books.  Some are long, heavy, meaty reads, that could take more than a week to get through.  I don't mind making the length of time longer (10 days to 14 days) in the case of books that have already been released.  For those books that are coming out soon, though, I'd like to get them read and reviewed as fast as possible.

So, I need some opinions.
1 week for upcoming releases?
10-14 days for books already released?

Does that sound fair?  Share your thoughts in the comments!

That sounds good, but how about a caveat for books that are 300+ pages?

A one-week limit sounds good for the ARCs (gotta get the word out for those authors!), and on the already-out books or the really giant tomes, an extension probably would be helpful.

I agree with Marlyn and Tiger.

A little bit longer would definately be helpful.

That sounds very fair to me.

I agree with one week for ARCs. 10 days for already published books

Most definitely longer, if it is a longer book with more pages.

I agree with what everyone else is saying. A week works well with the YA sites, but those books are usually short and easy. I think longer for already released books and a week for ARCs should be fine. Maybe a special case by case basis for ARCs that are exceptionally long, say over 500 pages?

I don’t see anything wrong with extending the limit for really long books. I’d still try to keep ARCs close to one week so they can circulate quickly.

I think these are good time limits.

Longer sounds good for the bigger books to me!

I concur with others about length. My library has a policy that new releases are 7-days unless they are over 400 pages, then they are 14-day loans. Perhaps a three-tiered system:
7 days for ARCs under 300 pages
10 days for already released books & books 301-399 pages
14 days for books over 400 pages

I think 7 days for ARC's even if they are over 400 pages and 14 days for other books.

In agreement with nomadreader

I only think its not long enough because I get over loaded with tour books and not enough time to read them all..ugh. :)
